| The second Grand Prix event of the BQA was well attended by MQL members. Dag Griffiths set the questions for the Individual Event in which MQL players filled positions 2 to 5 after the communal stages - namely Tom Farley (Wings), Ray Oakes (Condottieri), Karl Whelan (Oxford) and Pat Gibson (Pleiades) respectively. Alan Gibbs (Bowling Green) also qualified for the knockout stages played to MIMIR rules. Ray Oakes and Karl Whelan reached the final, Ray being beaten by a single point by the allconquering Kevin Ashman. Ray, Tom, Karl and Dag played as Formby Wings in the team competition and were beaten by one point in the final by a team which inluded Kevin Ashman and Jeremy Beadle, who has accepted an invitation to be President of the BQA.
