MQL was well represented
at the team event on Saturday. Wings and Condottieri (both Southport
& Formby) reached the semi-final stages. On the same day,
Ray Oakes (Condottieri), Karl Whelan (Liverpool), Phil Duffy
(Carr Mill) and Dag Griffiths (Wings) represented MQL in a 'University
Challenge' match againt the 'Discovery Mastermind' finalists
- the MQL foursome were comfortable winners. MQL was again well represented in the individual event on Sunday. Congratulations to John Wilson (Castaways - pictured left) on becoming the BQA's first Grand Prix Champion. Tom Farley (Wings) also made the final, finishing fourth. There were top ten finishes also for Jim Eccleson (Oxton Cons) and Dag Griffiths (Wings). In a 'buzzer' challenge match John, Jim and Dag along with Andy Page (Northern) made up the MQL team which went down to a BQA select team which included Peter Richardson (Rex Lions). |
