The British Quiz Association, recently launched as the organisation intended to become the national body to assist and represent quiz players and promote quizzing in the United Kingdom, ran the 2001 British Quiz Championship on Saturday 10 November 2001 in Oxford. Merseyside was well represented at the event.

The MQL players who took part were from left to right; Tom Farley, Ruth Cummings, David Simms, John Wilson, Alan Gibbs and Dag Griffiths. John reached the final four and finished 3rd on the day. Dag and Alan made the cut (top 25%) and finished 8th and 12th respectively. |
