Pat Arthur (Sport Mastermind Finalist - 2008)

Congratulations to Pat Arthur, a Local Government Accountant, who plays for Oxton Conservatives in the Wirral League on reaching the final of the first ever Sports Mastermind - hosted by Des Lynam.

She won her heat answering questions on Wimbledon Singles Championships 1968-2007. Her score of 28 was enough to qualify for a place in the final.

Of the six finalists, Pat was the only woman and performed creditably answering questions on South African Test Cricket. Prior to the final she had the opportunity to meet with South African cricketing legend Barry Richards at Lords.

The first champion and Sport Mastermind 2008 was Chris Bell from Kent, who took The British and Irish Lions as his specialist subject in his heat and The Life and Career of Geoff Boycott in the final.
