Below are listed mistakes/omissions etc spotted in the 2011/2012 season.

The youngest footballer to play for England before Wayne Rooney and Theo Walcott was James Prinsep (1879) not Duncan Edwards (NB Michael Owen was younger than Edwards when first capped)

Utgard not Usgard was the abode of the giants in Norse mythology - it appears that the setter was confusing it with Asgard, the land of the gods
Da\vid Geffen not Jeffen was one of the thre founders of the US film studio 'Dreamworks'
Many historians, as well as the Official Record of the Civil War,[1] consider the Battle of Palmito Ranch to be a post-Civil War encounter, with the Battle of Columbus in April being the recognized last battle of the Civil War. (November 29th)

Edna O'Brien wrote 'The Country Girls' in 1960 not 1936 (December 6th)
