Originally called Southport Amateurs, but on closure of the club moved to the Berkeley Hotel as the Exams (i.e. Ex Amateurs). For a time the hotel was renamed Blakes, but it reverted to its original name. At the start of the 2006-7 season the team moved to the Wings Club. On the closure of the Wings Club, the team moved to its new venue, the Shakespeare.

Pictured above left is John Miller, a stalwart of the team and the league. He was Division 2 secretary for a number of years and in recent years has organised and presented the annual Christmas Charity Quiz.
